Originally born in Moscow, Russia, I moved to the UK with my family aged 6. I started dancing all forms of dance as a hobby until one day I went with my mother to watch a performance of The Moscow City Ballet’s Swan Lake which came to tour in the UK and that was when I fell in love with ballet and knew there was nothing else that moved me so much.
After secondary school I went to live in London, studying at the Central School of Ballet, where I studied for 3 years prior to joining a professional company. I danced abroad in The Israel Ballet, here having the chance to dance in ballets like Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, and many contemporary works as well as some soloist roles like Fairy from Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Seven Dwarves and David Nixon’s Beauty and the Beast. I then came home to the UK where I also performed with the English National Ballet.
Since then, I have been teaching children and very much enjoy it. It gives me an incredible feeling knowing I can pass along my skills and knowledge to the next generation and help them be the best they can be. I have also completed the ‘Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma’ at the Royal Academy of Dance which has helped me to develop my skills further and teach broader age ranges and abilities.
